There is a need for banners. I think there has got to be something for people to rally around. It’s a bit like a flag I suppose…It gave you an identity. I think we’ve got to get that identity back…if we march in the street we’ve got a right to show what we’ve got. All our members know our banner.
We are continually in struggle. I don’t think we’ll ever manage to get out of that and I don’t suppose if you are doing a job for workers you are ever going to get out of it. That’s one of our slogans – dare to struggle, dare to win – which I think is quite appropriate. Ron Owens, Secretary
