Stop the cuts

State Government budget cuts attack services, jobs, pay and conditions.

On September 16th, Kevin Foley brought down a budget that cut 3,750 jobs from the public sector and brought in a number of measures that will undermine community services and increase the burden on the poor and the needy.
In addition he also has attacked directly the wages and working conditions of all public sector workers by legislating away working conditions.

  • Removing long service leave entitlements for workers who have been in their jobs for more than 15 years
  • Removing holiday leave loading for most

This was done in a way which flies in the face of the right to collective bargain, by pushing through amendments to the Public Sector Act as part of the budget process.

Join the campaign to stop this attack on the important work of over 100,000 workers in the public sector.
